Any help would be appreciated. (donnawooley@juno.com), Tue Oct 10 11:31:43 EDT 2000 Wow! Very impressive! I found you in an effort to find more on Lemuel Mason. I was wondering if the one you have posted could be the same as my great grandfather times 8. I have very little info on him. I had his birth year as 1625. Yours was 1629. He was the father of Francis Mason. Same person? Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Sincerely Donna Wooley Ann Hughes (hugann@onemain.com), Mon Oct 9 17:49:41 EDT 2000 I have an Elizabeth Leatherbury who was married to Edmund living in Virginia. Apparently after Edmund dies (which is before 1855) Elizabeth moves with her children to Northampton Co., PA. Elizabeth would have been born about 1792. I don't have much more to go on except what I have written. One last thing is that in Elizabeth's will she mentions money owed to her from Virginia. Her children would have been: Sarah Elizabeth, Maria and Mary Ann. I would appreicate any clue as to where I might go next since I am not familiar with Virginia. Thanks for all your help. This is surely the best site on the web, made up, as it is, of many kind and helpful cousins. Can anyone help me document the marriage of my grandparents William Edward Wise and Gertrude Twiford? They are buried at Mt. Holly Cemetary in Onancock. My father, Edward Revel Wise, was born in 1901, so I assume they were married in 1898=190l. Nora Miller Turman once speculated that they may have been married in Maryland. I know that they lived on a farm outside Onancock for about ten years, and that she lived in Onancock after his death in about 1910. Many thanks for any guidance you may offer. I'm trying to figure out exactly who was involved with the petitioning to detribalize the Gingasinks and what involvement they had with the Revolution on the Eastern Shore. He was indentured at that time to James McPherron but released in 1818 if he would leave Greene County, TN. I think he may have been from a wealthy family because of the terms of the indenture. He also signed a bond for . at age 21 to marry Anna Carter. In addition, he sold 125 acres in 1831 at age 25. I have found a John Simpson who owned 403 acrs of land in 1797 and 75 acres of this land was sold by Henry Simpson, but it was owned by Ellis King since 1805 when he bought it from Jonathan Fuston, and no record could be found of him selling it. Is there a list of guardianships or something that would show orphans who inherited land in VA in 1817 or 1830? Trying to find information on George Harman born March 21 1761 in Virginia. He was a Revolutionary War Soldier for Virginia and he served under Lt. Col. John Cropper in the 9th Virginia Regiment Continental Line from Accomack County Virginia. On George Harman's military records he is listed as Mulatto. We know that he was part native american and probably German. George Harman received land in the Virginia Military District in the state of Ohio for his service in the Rev. war. He was living in Accomack county Virginia during the 1800 and 1810 census . His family is listed in the free persons of color catagory during these census years. He moved with his wife and family to Ohio and he died in Pickaway County Ohio Dec. 28 1832. We believe that George Harman's father's name may have also been George. If anyone could help me out with this George Harman family or any of the Harman families listed as free persons of color in Accomack County Virginia I would greatly appreciate it!!! Thanks so much for your time and effort!!
