He married twice. He married Emeline P. Fitchett in Accomack Co., VA, October 10, 1832. Emeline was born October 21, 1815. Emeline was the daughter of Joshua T. Fitchett and Martha "Patsy" Polk. Emeline died April 19, 1858 at 42 years of age. He married Margaret T. Joynes in Northampton Co., VA, November 11, 1863. Margaret was born October 11, 1819. Margaret was the daughter of Elias Dunton Joynes and Margaret Smith. Margaret died August 8, 1898 at 78 years of age. (Bill Burton)

Fitchett in Northampton Co., VA, January 24, 1853. Edward was born October 21, 1830. Edward was the son of Daniel Fitchett and Ann Widgeon. Edward died January 25, 1875 at 44 years of age. child 1580 ii. Sarah A. Dunton was born February 12, 1837. She married T. P. Dowty.

child 1581 iii. Pattie P. Dunton was born 1840. Pattie died June 18, 1876 at 35 years of age. She married George B. Taylor. George was born in Accomack Co., VA 1840. George was the son of Lewis B. Taylor and Elizabeth B. Burton. George died 1929 at 89 years of age. (Bill Burton; Bill Wilkins)
