* According to older gravestone records, this grave was originally at "Nottingham Beach" near the Kiptopeake State Park. The graves were moved to Cape Charles. I am not sure when this happened. The original stone was inscribed; Southy Spady Jan 15, 1756- June 28, 1844. - David Scott

** Thomas S. Spady 1787-1841   According to older gravestone records, this grave was originally at "Nottingham Beach" near the Kiptopeake State Park. The graves were moved to Cape Charles. Thomas was Southey's son. The original stone was inscribed: Thomas S. Spady d. Sept 28, 1841 aged 54 years. - David Scott
