13. Matthew3 Purnell (Thomas2, Thomas1) was born in Somerset Co., MD about 1700. Matthew died 1761 in Worcester Co., MD. He married Martha McClemmy before 1730. Martha was the daughter of Owen "Woney" McClemmy and Elizabeth Jones. Martha was named in her parents' wills and her husband, Matthew, was called "son" by Martha's mother in her 1730 will. He made a will in Worcester Co., MD, November 8, 1760. (Maryland Calendar of Wills 1759-1764 v12, p. 62) Matthew's will was probated in Worcester Co., MD, May 29, 1761. Matthew received "Fern Hill," "Fairfield," "Chance," and "Spalding" from his father's will and obtained "Purnell's Security," "Addition," and "Sherbourne." (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Co.
