Stephen Warrington plt agt John Gootee deft in debt.

This day came the plt by his attorney and on the motion of the deft with the assent of the plt the assessed Judgement obtained against him in this cause is set aside. The said John Gootee acknowledged the plts action. Therefore it is considered by the Court that the plt recover agt the said deft the sum of Forty Two pounds ten shillings with legal interest thereon from the 8th day of May 1793 and the costs and the said plt releases out of the said sum six pounds paid July 30th 1793 and the further sum of six pounds paid this day. And the plaintif ---that execution on this Judgement shall be stayed four months.

Edmund Pettit & Rachel his wife exors of Benjamin Warrington, decd, plt agst Noah Belote deft in debt. This day came the parties by their attorneys and the deft relinquishes his former plea. John Wise his attorney says that he is not informed what further to say in bas (sic) or preclusion of the plts action whereby the said plts against the said deft remains altogether undefended. Thereby it is considered by the Court that the plt recover against the said deft the sum of one hundred and sixty pounds, the debt in the declaration mentioned and the costs in this behalf expended and the said deft in mercy & C. But this Judgement is to be discharged by the payment of eighty pounds with legal interest thereon from the 30th day of August 1791 til paid and the costs.

Justice & Evans Mathews, who being elected, tryed and sworn well and truly to try the matter in issue joined between the said parties upon their oaths do say that the deft is guilty in manner and form as the said plt agt him hath declared and they do assess the damages by occasion thereof to five pounds, ten shillings.

This day came the plaintiffs by Severn E. Parker their attorney and it appearing to the Court that the Defendant is an infant Shadrack Darby is appointed her guardian for the special purpose of defending this suit and the plaintiffs filed their bill and the defendant, by her said guardian her answer, and the cause came on by consent to be heard on the bill, answer and exhibit.

Where as on it is decreed and ordered that Thomas Mears, Isaac Smith and William P. Moore or any two of them do make sale of the slave Littleton in the bill and answer mentioned, after having advertized the time and place of such sale at the Courthouse door ten days previously thereto on a credit of sixty days with interest from the day of sale, taking bond with approved security therefor and that they divide the proceeds in the following manner to wit- one third to George Warrington and Catharine, his wife, one third to Elizabeth Pewsey, one third to Stringer Ames and Rachel, his wife, and make report thereof to the Court.

This day came the Appellants by their attorney and the Appelle appeared by William T. Joynes his attorney and the cause was argued by counsel. It is ordered to be certified that it appears to the satisfaction of the Court, that Stephen Warrington who was reputed to have served in the Revolutionary War, died many years ago leaving the following children, his only heirs at Law, namely George Warrington, Samuel Warrington, Peggy Warrington, Nancy Warrington, Smith Warrington and Thomas Warrington. That Nancy Warrington (now Nancy Smith) and Thomas Warrington are still living. Sally Warrington married William Parsons and is dead. Samuel Warrington and George Warrington are dead and intestate, leaving no children nor descendants of children. John K. Warrington is dead leaving Lovey Warrington, now Lovey Ames. John T. Warrington and Sally Warrington (now Sally Belote) his only children and heirs at Law. Peggy Warrington married William Whitehead and is dead and intestate, leaving John Whitehead, William Whitehead and Edward Whitehead her only children and heirs at Law.

At a Court held for the County of Accomack at the Court House thereof on Monday the 26th day of december A. D. One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Three.
Present William P. Moore Senr., Presiding Justice and Thomas W. Turford, Southy J. Lucas and Thomas H. Kellam, Gentlemen Justices.

It is ordered to be certified that it appears to the satisfaction of the Court that John K. Warrington (one of the children of Stephen Warrington who served in the Revolutionary War) is dead, leaving John T. Warrington, Lovey A. Charnock, and Sally Belote his only children and heirs at Law. That Lovey A. Charnock is now Lovey C. Ames and that John T. Warrington has departed this life intestate leaving the following and only children to wit: Emily S. Warrington, John R. Warrington and William A. Warrington who are minors.
